Bio

Senior Administrative Manager – Helping the Honors College and serving its leadership, teams, and students the best I can.

I am originally from Indiana, but got to Texas as soon as I could, transplanting to the Plano, north-Dallas area. From there, I completed a B.A. in Applied Arts and Sciences from the School of Community Service at the University of North Texas, Denton and went on later to earn a Masters of Public Administration from St. Mary’s University. I also hold a social media certification from the University of the Incarnate Word and the San Antonio Area Foundation. I have had recognitions, and completed some leadership programs in my work, but my real career highlights I find by following former students online and seeing all their accomplishments including growing their own careers, businesses, and families.

I have delivered several presentations over many areas, including student safety and support, Title IX, and student life opportunities while managing student orientations in higher education. In addition to successful student onboarding, arts education has always been important to me. Many educators know research supports the fact that involvement in the arts increases academic achievements and capacity for the whole student. My other areas of interest are: public policy and community health.

With a background in educational publishing, I have had the opportunity to teach journalism in the past, a field which has since exploded into a number of specialized areas. My favorite thing about working with the Honors College, its students, and exceptional students in general, are those occasions when you get to see competency and fearlessness as well as ambition. If you ever think that you cannot accomplish something in your path, you probably just need a good conversation with one of these students.
