Christina Morales

Peer Coach, Major: Neuroscience & Psychology

Christina Morales

Hello! My name is Christina, and I am a junior pre-med double majoring in neuroscience and psychology. I am currently a peer coach for the honors college but used to be the honors social media coordinator, so I know a lot of the ins and outs of Honors. I love being a peer coach because I love working with students on their aspirations and goals for the future. Everyone needs someone to lean on and I am grateful I get to be that person for others. My dream is to go to medical school to become a pediatric neurologist so I can give back to the people in my life. I love talking about anything and everything from coding to photography and even k-dramas so come by and see me anytime!

Professional Development

Attending LeaderShape was an amazing experience I’ll never forget. As an officer of an organization, I knew my leadership skills were important and decided LeaderShape would help me work on those skills. The experience I had was so much more about leadership and really helped me connect with students from UTSA who I never would’ve met otherwise. Connecting with students and working on activities that challenged my way of thinking helped me to build better bonds and allowed me to open up with people who were once strangers and now are very deep friends.

Intellectual Achievement & Research

Through my organization I was able to connect with a researcher at UT health Medical School in Austin, TX. The research focuses on LGBTQ+ youth in connecting them to mental health counselling and resources. This research has allowed me to work with so many brilliant and wonderful people and has shown me that there is a place for me in research as I have loved the projects we continue to work on.
