Five UTSA students have been named finalists by the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the largest number of UTSA students selected to participate in the program. Three students were from the UTSA Honors College.
Joshua Lazaro ’23 recently has earned his bachelor’s degree in statistics and data science with a concentration in biology. His next stop will be the start of his Ph.D. program at Stanford University and a career at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this fall.
This weekend, more than 250 seniors in the Honors College will be graduating from UTSA. Many of these high-achieving students already have impressive jobs lined up or will be starting graduate studies in the fall. With hands-on experiential learning at the core of the Honors College experience, this unique advantage has given these career-ready Roadrunners an edge up as they pursue their dreams.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded 11 UTSA students and alumni prestigious Graduate Research Fellowships to advance their graduate research education. Of the 11 students, 7 are current or former UTSA Honors College members.
