Rhodes Scholarship

Description: The oldest fellowship award in the world selects 32 students from the United States to study at Oxford University on a two year program. Rhodes Scholars must display outstanding academic achievements, honorable character, commitment to others and the common good, and the potential for future leaderships.

Award: Full financial support for scholars to pursue one or two degrees at the Oxford University in the United Kingdom.

Deadline: September 1 campus deadline. Candidates should reach out to ONCA at least 4-weeks prior to submitting an application. While the Rhodes Scholarship prohibits advisors to work with students on application essays, we can assist students in looking for graduate programs in the UK.

Marshall Scholarship

Description: Marshall Scholarships fund an opportunity to study in the United Kingdom for young highly qualified Americans seeking a graduate degree. Scholars can spend 1-2 years in the UK pursuing 1-2 graduate awards. Every year, up to 50 applicants are chosen to be graduate scholars at a UK institution in any field. Scholars are expected to be future leaders with a lasting understanding of British society and will strengthen the bond between British and American peoples.

Award: Full cost of studying at a UK institution, alongside additional funds depending on criteria and qualifications including: annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, air fare roundtrip from the U.S. to the UK; and, if applicable funds for the support of a dependent spouse.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Description: Scholarships awarded to outstanding students seeking a postgraduate degree in any subject at the University of Cambridge. Ideal candidates are academically outstanding and have the potential to leave an impact on the discipline being studied at Cambridge. A successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to be a future leader. Graduate students are especially encouraged to apply to PhD programs, as 2/3 of the awards are dedicated to doctoral programs.

Award:Full cost of studying at Cambridge; additional discretionary funding depending on different criteria’s and circumstances.

Requirements:

  • Citizen of any country outside the U.K.
  • Applying for one of the following full-time residential courses of study
  • PhD (three-year research-only degree)
  • MSc or MLitt (two-year research-only degree)
  • One-year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA, etc.)

Deadline: mid-October deadline. Candidates should reach out to ONCA at least 4-weeks prior to submitting an application for assistance. No campus endorsement required.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

A successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to be a future leader. Graduate students are especially encouraged to apply to Ph.D. programs, as 2/3 of the awards are dedicated to doctoral programs.
