Application Year: juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent alumni

Description: A fellowship program recognizing and supporting outstanding graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (relevant to NSF) disciplines, who are seeking research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.

Award: Three-year annual stipend of $34,000 and a $12,000 allowance for the tuition and fees. Approximately 1,600 are awarded nationwide

Applicant Profile:

  • Applicants must plan to pursue a graduate degree in a selected academic field of study.
  • Beginning a graduate career or having just entered a Ph.D. program.
  • Potential to advance knowledge through intellectual merit of research.
  • Potential to benefit society and contribute to desired social outcomes through broader impacts in the field.
  • Finishing or acquired an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year institution in the United States by start of graduate program.
  • Women, minorities, persons with disabilities and veterans are highly
    encouraged to apply.
