To celebrate International Education Week, the UTSA Office of Nationally Competitive Awards is hosting a Study Abroad Photo Contest! We support students throughout the year on international award opportunities such as the Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad, Fulbright Student Program, and other awards. This contest is for any student who has studied abroad, regardless of if they won a national award for their program. See below for eligibility.
Eligibility: All current UTSA students who have participated in a study abroad, internship or study program while enrolled as a UTSA student or are currently participating in a program. Participants from both UTSA-sponsored and non-UTSA-sponsored programs are eligible.
Subject: Students may submit up to 4 photos. Photos must be your original images. The photo must have been taken during your study abroad experience but is not limited to the study abroad location (example: a student studying abroad in Madrid, Spain could submit a photo taken during a weekend trip to Paris, France).
Be creative! All subject matter, themes and styles are welcome. Photos should capture the impact of your international experience. Photos that include subjects and themes beyond the typical tourist attractions are highly encouraged! Photos deemed inappropriate by the selection committee will be removed from consideration.
Photos can be submitted to three categories:
Submission*: Photos due by Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 11:59 pm by email to onca@utsa.edu
Judging and Prizes: ONCA staff and a panel of judges will score all photos. Winners will be announced during International Education Week (November 13-17) on social media and via email. Winning photos will be posted on ONCA social media accounts (@utsascholarships) and winners contacted to receive small prizes.
*By submitting photos to the contest, you authorize UTSA to post these photos on social media accounts. UTSA retains the right to use these photos.
