Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad
The Gilman Scholarship is a study abroad scholarship that provides students with limited
financial means and often from underrepresented backgrounds with an
opportunity to study, intern, or do service abroad. Gilman awards over 3,000 awards a year! If eligible, the Gilman Scholarship is your best chance at gettign funds to study abroad in addition to the UTSA International Education Fund.
Award: Up to $5,000 for a maximum of one academic year of undergraduate
study abroad, with an additional $3,000 awarded to study a critical need
language. Amounts will vary based on student’s rank in the selection process
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- Undergraduate in good standing at an accredited two-year or four-year
institution in the United States - Undergraduate receiving the Federal Pell Grant at a two-year or four-year
institution - Must be in the process of applying to or accepted to program
- The application must be certified by a financial aid and study abroad advisor
Deadlines:
- Cycle 1: (1st week in October) for Spring and Summer Programs
- Cycle 2: (1st week in March) for Summer, Fall, and Academic Year Programs
